War Driving Mode

Applies To: eDispatches Mobile App Users & Map Administrators

War Driving Mode allows department members to rapidly plot fire hydrants in real time while driving through their response area using device GPS tracking.

How to Access and Use War Driving Mode

1. Enter War Driving Mode: Navigate to the Map section in the mobile app and tap the fire engine icon. 
   
2. Plot Hydrants on the Move: Your real-time GPS position will display and update continuously as you travel. As you pass a fire hydrant, tap Add to drop a pin at your exact physical location. You may adjust map zoom levels as needed.
3. Save Session: Tap Save when finished to publish all newly plotted hydrants to your agency's shared account map. 
   

Note: War Driving Mode currently supports rapid fire hydrant entry only. Other Points of Interest (POIs) must be added manually. Always follow local traffic laws regarding the use of mobile devices while operating a vehicle.
