Applies To: All eDispatches Users, Account Administrators & Personnel
eDispatches offers multiple alert notification channels to ensure emergency dispatch information reaches personnel across mobile apps, SMS text messages, direct phone calls, and landlines.
Available Notification Options
1. Mobile App Notifications (iOS & Android)
The eDispatches mobile app converts smartphones into digital stored-voice pagers. Features include live audio streaming, mass messaging, administrative controls, turn-by-turn routing, and active dispatch maps. When paired with Enhanced CAD Relay, the app displays up to 40 parsed CAD data fields alongside one-touch navigation.
2. Voice Notifications (Direct Phone Calls)
Voice Notification delivers dispatch audio as a simultaneous phone call to designated recipients. Unanswered calls automatically leave the full audio alert on voicemail. Listed as Voice in the administrative portal, this option is designed primarily for landlines and basic feature phones.
Note: Mobile app users should avoid enabling Voice Notifications, as incoming cellular calls can interrupt app operation.
3. SMS Text Notifications
Text Notifications send SMS alerts containing direct links to playback dispatch audio via smartphone web browsers or dedicated phone call-in hotlines. Using both cellular voice and data channels, mobile app push notifications are encouraged alongside SMS to maximize delivery reliability.
4. Enhanced CAD Relay
Enhanced CAD Relay routes raw CAD data directly from dispatch servers without additional hardware fees. Personnel receive parsed incident locations, GPS coordinates, cross streets, and dispatch details via app notifications or formatted SMS texts, provided the local dispatch center supports CAD email exports.
