Applies To: eDispatches Hardware & Detector Troubleshooting
When an eDispatches detector goes offline or displays a "LATE" status, the Account Administrator receives an automated SMS alert. Learn how to manage Offline Equipment Notification Contacts in the portal.
Step 1: Power Verification
Check the front power button on the detector unit:
- Blue Light Active: The detector is receiving power. Proceed to Step 2.
- No Blue Light: Verify AC outlet power and ensure all power adapter brick cable connections are fully seated.
Step 2: Internet Connection & Power Cycle Procedures
If power is verified but the equipment status remains "LATE", perform the following network reset sequence:
Basic Power Cycle
- Verify active internet access on other local network devices.
- Power off the eDispatches detector, wait 10 seconds, and power it back on. Allow up to 3 minutes for full boot initialization.
Full Network Reboot Sequence
If basic rebooting does not restore the "ONLINE" status, perform a complete sequential network power cycle:
-
Power Off Equipment in Order:
- eDispatches Detector
- Internet Modem
- Broadband Router
- Power On Modem: Reconnect power to the modem and wait until all network status lights stabilize.
- Power On Router: Reconnect power to the router and wait until wireless/Ethernet activity stabilizes.
- Verify Local Network: Confirm web browsing functionality on a secondary computer connected to the network.
- Power On Detector: Reconnect power to the eDispatches detector. Within a few minutes, system status in the portal should return to ONLINE.
Step 3: Support Escalation
If the detector remains offline after completing power and network resets, contact eDispatches Technical Support directly at 973-453-5810 (Ext: 2).
