Adding Hydrants Using a File Upload

Applies To: eDispatches Account Administrators & Mapping Data Managers

The eDispatches Technical Support team can import bulk hydrant location data into your subscriber map using a standardized template. If automated bulk upload is unavailable due to local data constraints, hydrants can also be placed manually or via War Driving Mode.

Bulk Hydrant Import Procedure

1. Obtain the Template: Request a hydrant import spreadsheet template from Technical Support or download the attached template at the bottom of this article.
2. Format Your Data: Have your municipal water department or hydrant maintenance staff export your GIS data and reformat it to match the eDispatches template fields.
3. Submit for Processing: Email your completed spreadsheet to support@edispatches.com. Our technical team will validate the formatting and upload the coordinates to your account map.

Alternative Placement Methods

If your agency lacks structured GIS export files, hydrants can be added directly within the mobile application or web portal through manual coordinate entry or by using War Driving Mode while in the field.
