Severe weather events and natural disasters can disrupt local infrastructure. Learn how outages impact specific eDispatches system features and how to maintain operational continuity when equipment goes offline.
Feature Performance During Infrastructure Outages
-
Audio Dispatching (Local Hardware):
- Detectors rely on local power and local internet connectivity at your station or facility.
- If power or internet fails at your location, the detector cannot transmit dispatch audio to eDispatches servers.
- End-users must have active cellular or Wi-Fi data service to receive mobile app alerts.
-
Enhanced CAD Relay:
- CAD messages transmit directly from your dispatch center's CAD system to eDispatches cloud servers.
- If your dispatch center retains power and internet connectivity, CAD notifications remain operational even if local station power fails.
- End-users must have active cellular or Wi-Fi data service to receive alerts.
-
Priority Messaging:
- Messages send directly from an authorized mobile device or web portal to eDispatches cloud servers.
- Unaffected by local station power outages as long as the sender has cell service or internet access.
- End-users must have active cellular or Wi-Fi data service to receive notifications.
-
Priority Blast:
- Voice broadcasts transmit directly from an authorized mobile device to eDispatches cloud servers.
- Unaffected by local station power outages as long as the sender has cell service or internet access.
- End-users must have active cellular or Wi-Fi data service to receive notifications.
- Note: Priority Blast is an optional $10/month add-on for the entire account to maintain emergency broadcast capability during local facility disruptions.
