Background
If you are using our Visual Response feature and you are not appearing accurately on the map, it's likely that your location permissions are not properly set on your iOS or Android device. Your location on the map is controlled by the location information reported by your eDispatches app. In order to work correctly, permission to use location information must be granted to the eDispatches app on your device. The location information permission should be set to the equivalent of "Always Allow" on your mobile device for the best accuracy.
eDispatches will only use your location information for the purposes of this feature and will not use it or share it in any other way.
Location Permission Choices
In general, the following are the options available and short descriptions. Please note that each mobile device may have slightly different wording, but will have the same affect.
Always
This is the suggested setting for the best functionality of the Visual Response feature. It allows the eDispatches app to show you on the map in the most accurate location possible when responding to an alert. This accuracy is maintained even if you should open another app or your screen should go blank.
Allow While Using App
This permission will prevent your location from being reported accurately UNLESS you leave the app open and running the entire time that you want to appear accurately on the map. If you should open another app, or your mobile device's screen should go blank, your location information will no longer be reported.
Never
This permission will prevent your location from being reported ever. Your location will never be accurate on the map.
